The North-West Customs Directorate is actively engaged in international activities, which take place within the competence of the Directorate within the framework of the implementation of intergovernmental agreements, as well as interdepartmental agreements of the Federal Customs Service of Russia with the customs services of foreign countries

 – In the past year customs officers of the region took part in more than 80 international events – working meetings, forums, conferences, meetings with the participation of representatives of 20 foreign countries, – said the head of the North-West Customs Administration Alexander Povod. -<Foreign and domestic diplomats, participants of foreign economic activity, representatives of transport, industrial, logistics companies, international organizations and trade missions of foreign countries took part in the working meetings

The main partners of the NWTU in cooperation are traditionally the customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Interaction with colleagues from the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries has significantly increased.

The working meetings with foreign colleagues mainly considered issues of functioning of neighboring checkpoints, joint measures to minimize queues at the border, leading to shorter transportation time and lower costs for participants of foreign economic activity, issues of suppression of illegal cross-border trade and smuggling, uninterrupted transit of goods along the route “North-South”
