Customs officers in St. Petersburg found 11 kilograms of cocaine in bananas

The smuggling of a large shipment of cocaine was stopped by Baltic Customs officers on the territory of the Big Port of St. Petersburg. They seized over 11 kilograms of the drug, the value of which on the black market exceeds 165 million rubles

The contraband was detected during the control of a container arriving from Antwerp (Belgium). Customs officers found briquettes with compressed white powder in a box of bananas

Expertise confirmed that it was the narcotic drug cocaine.

A criminal case was opened under paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of narcotic drugs on a particularly large scale)

The circumstances of the crime are currently being established
