More than 280 cubic meters of undeclared timber and lumber detained Ussuri customs in January-February 2020

283 cubic meters of sawn softwood was detained by the officers of the Ussuri customs from the beginning of 2020 in attempt of illegal export via the railway Border checkpoint. The value of the undeclared timber amounted to 2.8 million rubles. Offences were detected by customs officers together with employees of the transport Prosecutor’s office during the customs inspection of trains.

As told Deputy head of the Ussuri customs Alexey Generals, businessmen of Khabarovsk territory and the Amur region under the Declaration of timber deliberately understated their weight, trying to save on customs payments.

For false Declaration of goods Ussuri customs office filed 15 cases on administrative offenses under part 1 of article 16.2.Of the administrative code. Companies face a penalty of one-half to two times the value of the goods to confiscation. The timber and lumber withdrawn, investigation is conducted

In January – February 2019 the officials of the Frontier customs post Ussuri customs revealed 113 cubic meters of saw – timber and illegally transported by rail. In relation to the various exporting companies initiated 7 cases of administrative offenses. Violators paid fines of almost 400 thousand rubles.
