Heads of customs services of Russia and China discussed the development of bilateral cooperation

on December 19, Ruslan Davydov, acting head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, met with Yu Jianhua, head of China’s General Administration of Customs, in Beijing.
The parties noted the fact of early fulfillment of the task set earlier by the leaders of the two countries to increase the volume of trade turnover of 200 billion U.S. dollars by 2024.
The heads of customs services emphasized the achieved high level of dialogue and expressed readiness to continue constructive cooperation aimed at the development of Russian-Chinese trade.
During the talks there was an open and trustful exchange of views on a set of the most topical issues, such as information exchange, automation of customs processes, increasing the capacity of neighboring checkpoints, development of projects to simplify customs procedures, including mutual recognition of authorized economic operator institutions.
A promising direction is the application of certain mechanisms of «single window» for prompt receipt of reliable information, necessary primarily to accelerate decision-making during customs and other types of control at border crossing points.
Also during the visit Ruslan Davydov and Yu Jianhua presented a joint report on the results of the work of the «specialized» Subcommittee on Customs Cooperation at the 27th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission for the preparation of regular meetings of heads of government.
