At the Burachki checkpoint on the Russian-Latvian border, a passenger car of a Russian citizen was sent for scanning with the help of an inspection and search complex. During the subsequent inspection, customs officers found crystals of various shapes, weights and colors in four boxes

The man explained that he exported the collection to his permanent place of residence, but collected it in the Urals, where, according to him, such crystals are generally available. At the same time, he did not fill out a passenger customs declaration and did not provide authorization documents for their export

Expertise found that the minerals being moved are calcite, quartz, datolite and galena of terrestrial natural origin. They are of interest for biology, mineralogy, meteoritics regardless of the time of their origin. Their export is possible only with the permission of the Ministry of Culture and Rosprirodnadzor

The collection has been seized. Two cases on administrative offenses under part 1 of article 16.2 (non-declaration of goods) and under article 16.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to comply with prohibitions and (or) restrictions on the export of goods from the customs territory of the EAEU or from the Russian Federation) have been initiated against the man.
