A Russian citizen with a narcotic drug was detained by Ussuriysk customs officers during operationalsearch activities. The Russian citizen was traveling to China through the border crossing point Pogranichny as part of a tourist group
While conducting a customs inspection of the luggage, customs officers found a paper envelope covered with adhesive tape in the man’s hand luggage among foodstuffs. Inside the package was a brownish-brown colored vegetable mass with signs of a narcotic drug
The expert examination showed that the substance found was a narcotic drug – a mixture of tobacco and cannabis oil (hashish oil), the total mass of the drug in the mixture of 0.51 grams. Cannabis oil (hashish oil) is included in the list of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, the circulation of which is prohibited in the Russian Federation
Ussuriysk customs against a citizen of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case under paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal transportation across the customs border of narcotic drugs, committed in respect of narcotic drugs in a significant amount). The punishment for this crime is imprisonment for up to ten years with a fine of up to one million rubles
Investigative actions are underway.

In 2023, Ussuriysk Customs initiated 3 criminal cases against Russian citizens under part 1 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal transportation of narcotic drugs across the customs border of the Customs Union within the EurAsEC). The total mass of seized narcotic drugs amounted to 0.87 grams.
