Customs officials in the Samara region detained a shipment of hookah tobacco to 30 million rubles

On the Federal highway “Samara-Uralsk” in the village of Bolshaya Chernigovka in the Samara region the Samara customs officers seized 12 tons of unmarked tobacco for hookahs.

The goods were discovered in a truck “MAN”, who arrived on the territory of Russia from Kazakhstan. According to shipping documents in the car were transported parts for the industrial Assembly of mattresses (spring, foam, plastic jars).

However, during carrying out customs control in the cargo hold were packing with tin cans. According to the information on the package they were a tobacco, the production of Turkey. Excise labels and accompanying documents for the goods was absent.

The market value of the discovered tobacco amounted to 30 million rubles.

In accordance with paragraph b of part 6 of article 171.1 of the criminal code establishes liability for the production, acquisition, storage, transportation for sale or sale of unmarked tobacco products subject to marking special (excise) stamps, made in especially large size.
