Against Sevastopol entrepreneur, realizing counterfeit goods, criminal case

6 Aug 2020 Department inquiry OMVD Russia in the city of Sevastopol according to the information passed to the Sevastopol customs, concerning the individual entrepreneur, carrying out storage and realization of counterfeit goods of light industry, marked with the brands “Nike” and “Adidas”, a criminal case under part 1 of article 180 of the criminal code.

The said goods in the amount of 212 pairs of shoes were withdrawn from the trade during joint operatively-search actions of customs and Sevastopol Sevastopol transport Prosecutor’s office on 25 June 2020, the Amount of damage to owners of brands has made more than 1.7 million rubles.

The materials of the case upon illegal use of another’s trademark will be transferred to judicial authority for consideration and decision. Persons who violate the law face a fine in the amount from 100 000 to 300 000 rubles or compulsory work, or up to two years of imprisonment with the penalty to 80 000 roubles.
