Mobile groups of the Pskov customs revealed in 2019 580 violations

In 2019, the employees of the Pskov customs in conducting control over importation and trafficking of goods identified 580 violations of the Russian legislation: 110 consignments destroyed and 470 returned to the territory of a neighboring state.

The main volume of destroyed products – products of plant origin subject to special economic measures imposed by the Russian Federation.

In 2019 1093 destroyed tons of goods illegally imported to the Russian Federation, and 3096 tons returned to the Republic of Belarus. These indicators have been achieved, including, due to the interaction developed between officials of the Pskov customs and Border Department of the FSB of Russia in the Pskov region, as well as Administration of the Rosselkhoznadzor for Saint-Petersburg, Leningrad and Pskov regions, – noted the chief of service of customs control after release of goods Nikolai novolodskiy. – Not to mention the assistance provided by colleagues from the Belarusian customs authorities.

The range of returned items varied. This and live animals and food products, scrap of ferrous metals, rye flour and more. As a rule, returned goods tried to import with or without documents or using forged or invalid documents. Most of the returned products intended for sale on the shelves of public markets and in small private shops, however, transportation of goods without following the proper conditions casts doubt on not only its consumer properties, but also raises concern on the safety of these products.

In 2020, the Pskov customs officers will continue the activities aimed at curbing the illicit import into the Russian Federation of the goods in respect of which use of special economic measures.
