Pskov customs stopped the export of valuable old books

For attempt of illegal export of cultural values in relation to a resident of Estonia initiated two cases of administrative offences.

The driver of the vehicle for the international carriage traveled from the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union in Estonia through the customs post MAPP (multilateral automobile checkpoint) Kunichina Gora on the Russian-Estonian border.

During the oral survey, the population of Estonia denied the ability to move them undeclared goods.

However, as a result of customs inspection in the cab of the truck tractor, the employees of the customs post found undeclared goods – book in German with the inscription Kapff Communion Buch, hard cover with image of the cross, published in 1884.

The presence of undeclared old books in the cabin of the car the driver explained his forgetfulness.

The book was withdrawn and directed on examination.

According to expert opinion, published in Germany in 1884 the book of the sacrament belongs to the category of cultural values as the print edition, created over 100 years ago. The author is a German theologian and pietist Pralat Dr. Kapff. The overall condition of the book is satisfactory, the print edition has traces of existence, paper with traces of natural aging. On the flyleaf is a partially-legible owners ‘ mark.

In respect of a resident of Estonia prosecuted on administrative offenses under articles 16.3 (the prohibitions and (or) restrictions on import of goods into the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union or the Russian Federation and (or) export of goods from the customs territory of the Eurasian economic Union or the Russian Federation) and part 1 of article 16.2 (non-Declaration in the prescribed form of goods subject to customs clearance) of the code of administrative offences of the Russian Federation.
