STU mobile teams stopped the illegal export of 1.2 thousand tons of timber

Mobile groups of the Siberian Customs Directorate in Q1 2024 revealed 63 violations in the movement of timber from Russia abroad by road. As a result, it was possible to prevent the illegal export of timber shipments weighing more than 1.2 thousand tons

The main violations detected by employees of the STU mobile groups were attempts to export timber through road checkpoints through which the export of such goods is not allowed, improperly executed documents accompanying the transportation of timber, as well as the failure to declare additional shipments of timber on the way and the export of roughly processed wood under the guise of sawn timber.

“The largest number of violations were stopped by mobile groups of Altai Customs,” said Deputy Head of the Siberian Customs Administration Fyodor Yushkov. – The work of mobile groups is carried out in close cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rosselkhoznadzor and Rostransnadzor

Materials on the facts of revealed violations of current legislation in Q1 2024 were sent to law enforcement agencies for procedural decisions, customs authorities and police have already initiated four cases of violation of law and two criminal cases under Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation
