In 2023, the cargo turnover in the region of St. Petersburg Customs was 5.53 million tons. The weight volume of exported goods reached 4.44 million tons. 1.09 million tons of goods were imported into the region.

For 12 months of the last year, more than 93 thousand foreign commodity shipments arrived at the customs posts of St. Petersburg customs. Most of them – 67,600 consignments – were delivered to the region by trucks. 25,700 consignments were transported by rail

In 2023, the number of goods delivered to customs posts of St. Petersburg Customs by rail transport increased by 18%, while the transportation of goods by road transport decreased by 31%

The St. Petersburg Customs Service is recording an increase in import shipments arriving in the Northern Capital by rail from the People’s Republic of China, – says Yuri Plotnikov, First Deputy Head of the St. Petersburg Customs Service – So, up to 70 rail containers from China arrive daily at the Shusharsky customs post, located in the south of St. Petersburg. According to the results of 2023 in the customs control zone of the Shusharsky customs post received 23 thousand railway containers, 23% more than in 2022, imported 377 thousand tons of goods -1.5 times more than in 2022.
