Officers of the Main Department for Combating Smuggling of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, as well as the Central Operational, Volga Operational and Samara customs houses, have detained a Muscovite who ordered 250 kilograms of the potent substance pregabalin for 23 million rubles over the Internet.
The order was placed by a 25-year-old resident of the capital via a foreign messenger. The shipment arrived in Russia from Kazakhstan in a truck carrying clothes, household chemicals and appliances. After crossing the border, the truck was already under the control of operatives
In the Moscow region, a man was detained in front of his own house while receiving the goods. He admitted that he planned to sell pregabalin in all regions of Russia
Two criminal cases were opened under part 2 of article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of potent substances). He faces up to 10 years in prison with a fine of up to 1 million rubles
