An attempt to illegally export 76.9 cubic meters of hardwood lumber to China was stopped by Ussuriysk customs officers. The offense was detected at the railway checkpoint Pogranichny (Primorsky Krai).
A company from Primorsky Krai declared 80 cubic meters of spruce and fir sawn timber and provided phytosanitary certificates for the export of these species. However, during customs inspection, it turned out that 76.9 cubic meters of 76.9 cubic meters of hardwood lime were transported on the railway platform. the necessary documents and phytosanitary certificates for the hardwood lumber were missing
The Ussuriysk Customs initiated an administrative offense case against the exporting company under Article 16.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Non-compliance with prohibitions and (or) restrictions on the export of goods from the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union or from the Russian Federation”. The company faces a fine of up to three hundred thousand rubles with confiscation of goods
The timber has been seized and an investigation is underway
Inquiry:
Total for 2023 Ussuriysk customs prevented the illegal export of 2.9 thousand cubic meters of timber from the country. The value of seized and arrested timber amounted to more than 16.1 million rubles.
