Ussuri customs officers have prevented the illegal export of more than 17 tons of frozen fish to China

An attempt to illegally export 17.5 tons of frozen fish worth 4.7 million rubles to China was prevented by Ussuriysk customs officers. An entrepreneur from Sakhalin was trying to export a batch of frozen chum salmon through the checkpoint of the Krasnino IACP (Primorsky Krai)
According to Sergei Filatov, head of the operative-search department of the Ussuriysk customs, a total of 17.5 tons of frozen salted chum salmon (gutted, with the head) was declared. In the course of the activities of customs operatives found that the exported fish is of unidentified origin, and the veterinary certificate presented at the customs declaration was issued for another batch of fish
This category of goods, in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, is classified as a strategically important resource. Ussuriysk customs initiated criminal proceedings against the entrepreneur under part 1 of article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal transportation of strategically important resources in large quantities across the customs border). Fish of dubious origin was withdrawn from circulation, its market value amounted to about 4.7 million rubles. The entrepreneur faces a penalty of imprisonment for 3 to 7 years and a fine of up to 1 million rubles
