Chelyabinsk customs officers prevented almost 2 million rubles from being illegally exported from the country

Chelyabinsk customs officers found cash in the amount of 1.9 million rubles on a Chelyabinsk-Khujand flight. The man was unaware of the obligation to declare cash exceeding the equivalent of 10,000 US dollars

“In accordance with customs legislation, it is allowed to take out of Russia cash rubles in the equivalent not exceeding 10 thousand US dollars, provided that a passenger customs declaration is filled in. Before entering the customs control zone, the passenger should familiarize himself with the rules of moving goods across the border and, if necessary, ask customs officials for advice on how to fill out the required declaration,” – comments the head of the customs post Balandino Airport Alexei Alexeev.

A case on administrative offense under Article 16.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation was initiated on the fact of non-declaration of cash. The equivalent of 10 thousand U.S. dollars on the day of departure was returned to the citizen against a receipt, the rest of the money was seized until the court decision
