Koltsovsky customs officers managed to prevent the export of a cultural treasure. In the luggage of one of the passengers of the Ekaterinburg-Antalya flight the inspector found a cast cross with the image of the crucifixion. According to the man, he carries the cross with him as a talisman given by his father. The passenger was not aware of the need to declare the cross, and was not familiar with customs regulations

Customs officers sent the find for examination, which found that the cross was made in the second half of the XIX century from copper alloy and is a cultural value. To take the cross abroad requires authorization documents, the owner did not have them. A case of administrative offense has been instituted. The passenger can return his amulet, but only after paying the fine

To carry cultural value – items made more than 50 years ago – across the customs border, you need permission from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation with the mandatory registration of a passenger customs declaration in the “red” corridor,” explained acting head of the customs post Koltsovo Airport (passenger) Sergei Bolshanin.
