The head of the Ural Electronic Customs Service, Sergei Epifanov, held a working meeting with Elena Artyukh, a participant in foreign economic activity and the Sverdlovsk Region’s Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights

A businessman from Ekaterinburg imported a shipment of office equipment worth 3 million rubles. However, during customs control it turned out that compared to the previous shipments of the same entrepreneur, the cost of some items of identical goods had decreased by up to 26%. This was the reason for the appointment of an additional inspection, while the goods were released by customs under the security of payment of customs duties in the amount of 123 thousand rubles

To confirm the information on the customs value, the declarant was sent a request in the form of a list of documents consisting of 25 items. Such a list seemed unnecessary to the entrepreneur. In the format of the working meeting the position of the customs authorities was brought to the participant of foreign economic activity that the appointment of an additional check is a standard procedure, which does not indicate a biased attitude to a particular participant of foreign economic activity. We have specially prepared an exhaustive list of documents in order not to limit the declarant’s ability to realize his right to prove the reliability of the declared information, as well as to reduce the time of goods release. We are ready to answer all business questions, as our priority is transparency and openness,” said Sergey Epifanov, head of the Ural Electronic Customs Office
