Koltsovsky customs officers stopped a passenger on a Dushanbe-Yekaterinburg flight in the “green” corridor. The inspectors’ attention was drawn to a wooden box, which the man was carrying with his luggage. During the inspection it turned out that the 36-year-old citizen of Tajikistan was carrying 14 bottles of vodka and port wine. The man told the customs officers that he flew to Ekaterinburg to meet his colleagues, and the alcohol was intended as gifts for his Russian partners. He bought the hot drinks in Dushanbe for 160 dollars. He was unaware of the restrictions on alcohol imports

According to customs rules, one adult air passenger can import no more than 3 liters of alcoholic beverages duty-free. For the fourth and fifth liter you must pay duty – 10 euros for each liter. It is prohibited to import more than 5 liters. I would like to point out that these norms also include drinks purchased in duty-free stores, so-called “Duty free”“, – emphasized the head of the customs post of Koltsovo Airport (passenger) Sergey Borovik

Customs officers returned to the violator the allowed norm – 3 liters. The rest of the bottles were seized as an administrative offense. The further fate of alcohol will be decided by the court. And the violator faces a fine
