More than 21,000 dollars was found by Koltsovo customs officers from a 57-year-old resident of the Serbian Republic who was flying to Baku, Azerbaijan

The inspector stopped the passenger at the “green corridor” who was planning to fly to Serbia with her husband in transit through Azerbaijan. The citizen of the Serbian Republic had with her 15,450 euros and 4,500 U.S. dollars, which is the equivalent of more than 21 thousand U.S. dollars. In her explanation, she said that she planned to spend the money earned with her husband on the construction of a house in Serbia

Cash funds exceeding the equivalent of 10 thousand dollars are subject to mandatory written declaration when moving them across the customs border of the EAEU. In case of simultaneous movement of currency in the amount exceeding 100 thousand dollars by one individual, the passenger customs declaration will be required to be accompanied by documents confirming the origin of such funds. The written customs declaration of cash does not imply the collection of any duties and taxes on this amount,” said Sergey Borovik, head of the customs post of Koltsovo Airport (passenger)

A case of administrative offense under Article 16.4 of the CAO RF was initiated against the woman. The amount authorized for transportation was returned to the spouses of the Serbian Republic, while the rest of the money was seized and stored until the court decision
