The Yaroslavl customs officers detained a shipment of kilograms of potent substances

The Yaroslavl customs officers together with employees of the office of drug control regional Ministry of internal Affairs during operatively-search actions have detained the inhabitant of Yaroslavl for smuggling potent substances.

“The man was detained when receiving international mail at the point of issuing orders to one of the city services Express delivery. Inside the parcel, which was its name in China, the operatives were discovered a package of transparent colorless polymer material with a crystalline substance of white color, – said the press Secretary of the Yaroslavl customs Phillip Kushnarev. – According to the expert, seized from international mail crystalline substance of white color weight 997,76 grams, contains in its composition potent substance pregabalin”.

Pregabalin – drug antiepileptic actions, with a narcotic effect. This drug is included in the List of drugs approved by the RF Government decree of 29.12.2007, No. 964, the import of which into the territory of the Russian Federation is carried out only upon availability of documents confirming the appointment of the individual. Without permits cross-border shipment of drugs containing potent substances, is smuggling and is a criminal offence.

Law enforcement unit of the customs service was established that detainee has ordered this medication for one of the trading platforms on the Internet for personal consumption without a prescription and the doctor’s testimony on its reception.

For the illegal movement across the state border of the Russian Federation with member States of the EAEU potent substances of the Yaroslavl customs brought criminal case on signs of the crime, responsibility for which is stipulated by part 1 of article 226.1 of the criminal code.

According to the Criminal code of the Russian Federation, the act committed is punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term up to 7 years with a fine in the amount up to one million rubles.

Currently, employees of the Yaroslavl customs held urgent investigative actions.
