The term of temporary import of vehicles for personal use is extended, and explanations of the North-Caucasian customs Department
Until September 30, 2020 extended the period of temporary import of vehicles for personal use, which expire in the period from 1 March to 30 September 2020. The extension of the above period, carried out without the permission of the customs authority without the customs Declaration.
According to the current customs law, foreign physical persons are entitled to bring into the territory of the Eurasian economic Union transport vehicles for personal use registered on the territory of foreign States, for the period of his temporary stay, but not more than one year, with exemption from customs payments.
Because of the current situation related to the adoption of measures aimed at warning and preventing the spread of coronavirus infections 2019-nCoV, individuals are unable to perform their duties. In this regard, the Council of the Eurasian economic Commission adopted the Decision of April 29, 2020 No. 47, “amending certain terms of the importation of goods for personal use”, which comes into force from 28 may 2020.
Under the provision of paragraph 1 of Decision No. 47, expiring in the period from March 1 to September 30, 2020 the term of temporary import of vehicles for personal use, temporarily imported into the customs territory of the EEU, established by paragraph 1 of article 264 and the second paragraph of subparagraph 5 of paragraph 2 of article 268 of the customs code of the EAEU, is extended until 30 September 2020.
The first Deputy chief Severo-the Caucasian customs office Dmitry Stenberg said: “do Not forget that failure to comply with the rules of temporary importation of vehicles for personal use is an offense for which established liability in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation”.
Extension of period of temporary importation of vehicles for personal use up to 30 September 2020 is carried out without the permission of the customs authority without the customs Declaration. It should be noted that this Decision does not exempt individuals from compliance with the requirements, conditions and restrictions established by paragraphs 2 to 13 of article 264 of the customs code of the EAEU, as well as from duties on re-exported vehicles for personal use after a specified period of time.
