The benefits of participants in customs operations with Uzbekistan. Discussed in Chelyabinsk the project “Simplified customs corridor”
In Chelyabinsk held a working meeting of representatives of the governments of the region, the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Urals customs administration, Chelyabinsk customs, the Rosselkhoznadzor and the business community. Officials and businessmen met on the basis of the South Ural chamber of Commerce and industry to consider issues of expansion of practice of application of the Agreement between FCS of Russia and the state customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the organization of simplified procedure of customs operations when moving goods and vehicles.
At the present stage between the Urals and Uzbekistan has been an increase in turnover, actively developing regional cooperation, trade-economic and cultural ties. Uzbekistan is traditionally one of the top ten countries-partners of the enterprises of the southern Urals. According to customs statistics, the turnover of mutual trade in the area of the Chelyabinsk customs for 10 months 2019 amounted to 330 million dollars or 6% of the turnover of all countries. While the major share of the transported goods (60%) is a food product.
The relevance of the event is dictated by the importance of development of cooperation between the two countries and the implementation of the Federal project “the Export of agricultural products” aimed at support and promotion of export of Russian agricultural products.
During the meeting first Deputy head of Ural customs administration Alexei Frolov informed the participants about the current Agreement between FCS of Russia and the state customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, providing for a simplified procedure of customs operations when moving goods and vehicles. The agreement reglementary the exchange of preliminary information about goods and vehicles transported between Russia and Uzbekistan. It also defines that the procedure of trade facilitation – “Simplified customs corridor” is applied to persons involved in the project, whose activity belongs to the category of low-risk violations of customs legislation. To import and export on “Simplified customs corridor” only the goods defined in the Agreement: vegetables, fruits and nuts, products of their processing, other food products.
“Persons – participants of the project receive a number of benefits: priority in customs clearance, acceleration of customs procedures and customs inspection. If customs inspection is required then it is carried out in the shortest time”, – said Eduard Turanov, first Deputy head of the Chelyabinsk customs.
Summing up, the sides agreed to hold working meetings regarding import / export of supplies between the Urals and Uzbekistan on a regular basis and a number of activities to address the issues discussed in the first place, aimed at improving the interaction between business and government.
