Illegally sold cigarettes worth about 550,000 rubles were discovered by Rostov customs officers

Officers of the department of control over importation and turnover of goods of the customs control service after the release of goods of Rostov Customs together with officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia conducted customs inspections of the premises and territories of two retail outlets in Novoshakhtinsk and Olginskaya station (Rostov region)

In the course of the inspection among the products presented in the stores, a total of about 1,000 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps of the Russian Federation and without marking with special means of identification, which is a sign of illegal importation into the territory of the EAEU. Also found 2,700 packs of cigarettes produced by EAEU member states without excise stamps of the Russian Federation and 30 packs with signs of counterfeit excise stamps of the Russian Federation

Customs officers also found more than 500 electronic nicotine delivery systems and their replacement cartridges without excise stamps and “Data Matrix” markings. The entrepreneurs had no shipping documents for the goods.

The illegally sold tobacco products totaling about 4,500 units were seized from the trade turnover by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Further verification measures are being carried out. The cost of the seized products, according to the price tags, amounted to about 550,000 rubles
