Smuggling more than 10 tons of aquatic biological resources was stopped by the Ussuriysk customs

Smuggling of more than 8 tons of caviar and 2.6 tons scallop revealed Ussuri customs in the result of joint activities with the employees of Seaside transport Prosecutor’s office and FSB of Russia for the Primorye territory. Two Russian companies organized the illegal export to China of aquatic biological resources. The illegal load was detained at checkpoints Kraskino and Poltavka (Primorsky Krai).

A businessman from Vladivostok, has filed the customs Declaration on the export to China of 8.2 tonnes of frozen keta red caviar, Packed in plastic containers of 25 kg (327 years). While checking the submitted documents and information, it was determined that they are invalid. Documents required for registration of the veterinary certificate, the man has produced and signed in any form.

Another citizen of Russia, through his firm tried to export to China 2.6 tons of seaside living scallop. As told Deputy head of the Ussuri customs Alexei Generalov, during the inspection it was found that the documents in Primorsky scallop are also invalid. The businessman tried to export valuable natural resources under the guise of farmed. To submit documents, confirming legality of the origin of the scallop, Director of the company failed.

On the facts of contraband of strategically important resources of the Ussuri customs opened 3 criminal cases under part 1 of article 226.1 criminal code of Russian Federation (“the Illegal transfer of strategically important resources in the large size”) which sanction provides a penalty of up to one million rubles, or deprivation of liberty for a term up to seven years.
