Smolensk customs officers have detained the fruits and vegetables of unknown origin

The car with twenty tons of fruit and vegetables of unknown origin customs officers detained in the village of Losevo Krasninskoe district of Smolensk region.

Broccoli, celery, fennel, leeks and nectarines were imported under the guise of Belarusian drinking milk in bottles. According to the driver’s documents, the product resulted from Belarus to address one of the Moscow firms.

Shipping documents and documents confirming the phytosanitary security of fruits and vegetables, as well as the border phytosanitary control was absent.

In addition, the detention is established that on the truck and trailer was fixed forged state registration plates, for which the police filed a case on an administrative offense under part 4 of article 12.2 of the code of administrative offences (driving a vehicle with obviously false state registration signs).

“Family” registration plates was discovered in the cabin, there was a set of accompanying documents for internal transportation of vegetables and fruits from Smolensk to Velikiye Luki (Pskov oblast).

The car with freight customs officers transferred to the staff of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Bryansk, Smolensk and Kaluga areas for additional testing. The final decision in respect of the goods and the carrier will be made after completion of the whole complex of verification activities.
