Krasnoyarsk customs officials have brought four owners of cars and trailers to administrative responsibility for violations of temporary importation deadlines

Two men imported a car trailer from Germany for personal use under the temporary importation procedure

By the expiration of one year after importation, the owners were obliged to remove the trailers from the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union or declare them with payment of customs duties and taxes, but they failed to do so.

Analogous violations of customs duties and taxes were committed in the Krasnoyarsk region

Customs officers found similar violations in the Republics of Khakassia and Tyva. Two foreigners temporarily imported cars from Estonia to Khakassia and from Mongolia to Tyva. They did not take the vehicles out of Russia in time and did not declare them

In all cases Krasnoyarsk Customs initiated cases on administrative offenses under part 1 of article 16.18 (failure to export temporarily imported goods and (or) vehicles). In one of the cases the court decided to confiscate the trailer, in other cases the owners of the vehicles were fined administrative fines

We would like to remind you that temporarily imported vehicles for personal use can stay on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union for a period not exceeding 1 year. Violation of the procedure for temporary importation may result in administrative liability up to confiscation of the vehicle

Information on the rules of importing vehicles for personal use can be found on the website of the Federal Customs Service of Russia in the section “For Individuals” – https://customs.gov.ru/fiz.
