The mobile group of Saratov Customs, together with the officers of the Border Department of the Federal Security Service for the Saratov and Samara regions, in the international automobile checkpoint «Ozinki» detected a vehicle in which medicines were transported from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation.
According to the conclusion of experts, the objects submitted for examination contain a psychotropic substance phenobarbital (total content – at least 1650.6 g), which is included in List III of the List of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, the circulation of which in the Russian Federation is restricted in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation and international treaties of the Russian Federation.
The materials of the inspection were transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for consideration of the issue of instituting criminal proceedings on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of narcotic and psychotropic substances).
