Samara customs office opened a criminal case on the fact of smuggling of timber

July 27, 2020 in the Samara customs office opened a criminal case on signs of the attempted crime under part 1 of article 226.1 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of strategically important goods and resources).

In the Orenburg region on the highway “Kazan-Orenburg-Akbulak” employees of mobile group of the Samara customs had stopped a cargo vehicle with a trailer. Presented by the driver to the documents of the Sverdlovsk region in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan have followed the timber cut wood – pine with a volume of 20 cubic meters.

In a course quickly-search actions it is established that the submitted documents are forged, contain false data about the sender and recipient of goods, on the goods transported, its amount and the place of loading.

According to the opinion of an expert lumber in the form of edging boards refer to wood ash and veneer to wood species oak, beech and ash and are included in the list of strategically important goods and resources.

The total cost of goods is estimated in 1 990 307,96 rubles.

article 226.1 of the criminal code on the fact of attempt at illegal transfer across the State border of the Russian Federation of timber on a large scale. This article provides imprisonment for the term from three till seven years with the penalty to 1 million roubles.
