Rostov customs officers discover 43 tons of undeclared fuel on a ship in the port of Azov.

In the course of customs control of a riverboat departing from the port of Azov to Turkey, customs officers in Rostov discovered a discrepancy between the actual amount of fuel and the amount declared by the carrier. It was found that there was almost three times more fuel in the standard fuel tanks than what was declared, with the violators «making a mistake in the documents» by 43 tons. Viktor Kirdeev, the head of the customs post at the Port of Azov, explained that as a result of the customs control, a case of administrative offense under Article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation was initiated for «Failure to declare goods subject to customs declaration in the established form.» The undeclared fuel has been seized, and fuel samples have been sent for examination.
