Omsk customs for six months identified 25 thousand units of counterfeit goods

The officers of the Omsk customs in the first half of 2020 identified 24 890 units of counterfeit products.

The main group of detained counterfeit goods were light industry products (jackets, tracksuits, trousers, children’s clothing), marked trademarks of famous brands “REEBOK”, “PUMA”, “ADIDAS”, etc.

To establish the facts of illegal use of another’s trademark, leading to major damage to rights holders, the Omsk customs has requested the representatives of the holders of exclusive rights to objects of intellectual property (Representatives).

The total amount of damage caused to the rightholders of the trademarks exceeds more than 76 million rubles.

Materials for each statement on the legal protection of the right holders were transferred by customs to the local police for criminal cases. In the result, on the facts of illegal use of trademarks 4 criminal cases under part 1 of article 180 of the criminal code.

It should be noted that all counterfeit goods are detected by customs control after release of goods in the framework of the activities carried out by mobile groups in the border regions on the Russian-Kazakhstan state border of the Russian Federation.
