North-West operative customs has summed up the results of law enforcement activities for the first half of
266 criminal cases filed in the North-Western operational customs and customs authorities in the region for six months in 2020, 30 more than in the same period last year.
A significant part of violations that have been prosecuted, have to article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the criminal code) – the smuggling of strategically important goods and resources. This article opened 71 criminal cases.
60 criminal cases were instituted under article 194 of the criminal code – evasion of customs payments collected from organizations or natural persons.
On the facts of illegal transfer abroad of funds and violation of foreign exchange law (article 193, 193.1 of the criminal code) instituted 49 criminal cases.
On the facts of contraband of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances (article 229.1 of the criminal code) 23 criminal cases were opened.
15 criminal cases initiated on facts of illegal creation of a legal entity (article 173,1 the criminal code), 27 cases – on the facts of illegal use of documents for establishing a legal entity (article 173.2 of the criminal code).
On the facts of smuggling cash or monetary instruments (article 200.1 of the criminal code) 8 criminal cases were initiated.
On the facts of smuggling alcoholic beverages and tobacco products (article 200.2 of the criminal code) 13 criminal cases.
The greatest number of criminal cases are in the North-Western operational (57), Pskov (34), Saint Petersburg (31) and the Baltic (31) customs. In respect of individuals by customs Severo-the Western region filed 92 criminal cases. Under articles 91, 92 UPK the Russian Federation inquiry officers on suspicion of committing crimes arrested 6 individuals in 6 criminal cases.
In the first half of 2020 had seized over 64 kilograms of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and over 9 kilograms of potent substances.
10 100 Affairs about administrative offences (AP) is initiated by customs of the North West region for 6 months of 2020. The largest number of cases of AP in the period under review, initiated at the St. Petersburg customs – 2378 Affairs, Pskov customs – 2123 case, the Vyborg customs – 1636 cases.
In the first half of the current year customs North-West region of the penalties imposed in 10 of 152 cases of AP in the amount of 6 billion 921 million 939 thousand rubles.
5 248 times in the first half of 2020, the experts-cynologists of customs SZTU involved in the activities of customs control and operational-investigative activities and joint with other law enforcement activities, which helped to detect more than 15 kilograms of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, over 140 thousand blocks of cigarettes, 274 units of weapons and ammunition.
Also, for the first 6 months of 2020, with the use of dogs SZTU revealed 8 facts of illegal movement of currency across the border of the Russian Federation. The amount of the identified funds, including in foreign currency, amounted to more than 9 million rubles.
