Nearly 600 kg of aquatic biological resources was detained Ussuri customs at attempt of illegal export to China

596,3 kg of undeclared cucumaria revealed Ussuri customs officers at the checkpoint DAPP Poltavka (Primorsky Krai). The Russian company exported to China batch of aquatic biological resources, while underestimated in the documents of the weight of the product.

The exporting company of the Sakhalin region has filed the customs Declaration on the export to China nearly twenty tons of fresh-dried cucumaria. After verification of the data stated in the customs Declaration and the inspection of trucks at the checkpoint, it was found that the actual weight exceeded the specified in the Declaration.

In respect of the exporter of the Ussuri customs instituted administrative proceedings under part 1 of article 16.2 of the administrative code of Russia (false Declaration of goods). The company faces a fine in the amount of one-half to two times the value of the goods to confiscation.

Bags cucumaria seized and placed in temporary storage. The investigation is being conducted.

Cucumaria is a genus of echinoderms of the class holothurians. Is used in food. In Russia is subject to industrial fishing and harvesting (it is canned in jars like other seafood). In China cucumaria called “sea ginseng” because of the large number of useful properties.
