More than 6 thousand counterfeit iPhone cases for detained Vladivostok customs

6 970 counterfeit mobile phone case with the logo of the company “Apple” revealed employees of the Vladivostok customs at the customs post Sea port of Vladivostok. The damage to the copyright holder was about 16 million rubles.

The Russian importer has submitted at the Vladivostok customs the Declaration for the import from China of a container of various cell phone accessories: protective glass, Bluetooth adapters for playing music tracks and mounting for the phone in the car.

As has told the senior state customs inspector of Department of customs inspection customs office seaport Vladivostok Alexei Lisitsa, for customs clearance of Vladivostok customs officers found 14 boxes mobile phone case (6 970 pieces), which are inscribed with the words “iPhone” and the designation in the form of a bitten Apple, similar to the point of confusion with the protected trademark of “Apple Inc.”.

For illegal use of trademark Vladivostok customs initiated against the importer in the case of an administrative offense.

Reference: Liability for unlawful use of another’s trademark under paragraph 1 of article 14.10 of the administrative code and is punishable by an administrative fine on legal entities from fifty thousand to two hundred thousand roubles with confiscation of the goods.
