Mineralovodsky customs officers strengthen control over the circulation of tobacco products

Only two weeks in June 2020 Mineralovodsky customs detected three cases of illegal sale of tobacco products of foreign origin without mandatory excise labeling. During the RAID two of the Stavropol businessmen, customs officers seized 715 packaging of tobacco for hookah and 149 packs of cigarettes. Another violation was recorded in Pyatigorsk. In one of the grocery stores found 335 cartons of cigarettes Marlboro, Parliament, CAMEL, Dove, silver Dove and compact without excise label.

Illegal products seized and sent for examination. After assessing the value of the goods, the decision will be made in accordance with applicable law. For illegal use of the goods which were illegally imported across the border, provides for administrative liability under article 16.21 of the administrative code. If the value of goods exceeds 100 thousand rubles, violators could face criminal liability under article 171.1 of the criminal code (sale of products without labeling). The investigation is ongoing.

Just in the first half of 2020 Mineralovodsky customs officers discovered nearly 5.5 thousand packs of tobacco products of foreign origin without mandatory excise labeling, which is two times more than six months in 2019, when the figure was 2 803.
