Mineralovodsky customs detained almost 1.5 tons of apples sanctions
6 Feb 2020 Mineralovodsky customs officers in cooperation with the Office of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Republic of Ingushetia Nazran and transport Prosecutor’s office foiled an attempt of illegal sale of 1495 kilograms sanctions of apples.
The case of violation of law was fixed in one of the markets of Ingushetia. In the cargo compartment of the vehicle “Gazelle”, the customs officers found 115 boxes of fresh apples from Poland. The owner explained that he bought the goods in Vladikavkaz, wanted to sell. Any documents confirming the origin of the product and its compliance with sanitary norms were absent. All the above circumstances served as the basis for decision-making about the withdrawal and destruction of products of dubious quality.
“In 2019 revealed 9 cases of illegal storage and realization of 2352 pounds of prohibited to import sanctioned goods. Apples, pepper and dairy products, arrived in Russia from Poland, Holland, Italy, Greece, Germany, Finland. In 2020 this is the second violation. The first case was recorded on 20 January in Mineral Waters. Then from the sale of seized goat cheese produced in the Netherlands”, – said the chief of the customs control after release of goods Mineralovodsky customs Oksana Smirnova.
Reference: Officers regularly conduct inspections of enterprises, warehouses, vending companies, network and retail outlets, as well as jointly with the traffic police patrolling the highway Federal, regional and local significance of the region of activities of customs of Mineralnye Vody (Stavropol Krai, Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Chechen Republic and Republic of Ingushetia). Detection of agricultural products, the import of which is prohibited by December 31, 2020, is part of the implementation of the decree of the President of the Russian Federation from July 29, 2015 No. 391 “On certain special economic measures to ensure security of the Russian Federation”. In accordance with paragraph 2 of resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation from July 31, 2015 No. 774 of prohibited to import products subject to immediate confiscation and destruction.
