The share of processed timber in the structure of timber exported from Siberia according to the results of 9 months of 2023 increased to 95%.
According to the results of 3 quarters of 2023, customs officers of STU processed the largest amount of exported timber among other regional customs departments of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
China is still the main trading partner in timber supplies. The volumes of exported timber to neighboring countries are increasing.
The largest amount of processed timber was sent abroad by timber exporters of the Irkutsk region, Krasnoyarsk region and Tomsk region.
It should be noted that for 3 quarters of this year the volume of supplies of wood pulp abroad increased by 7% compared to the same period last year, by 37% – fiberboard, by 10% – kraft paper and kraft cardboard, in addition, almost 2-fold increase in the supply of charcoal.
«Products of modern woodworking Siberian productions are in demand both in Russia and in foreign markets, – said the head of STU Alexander Yastrebov. – In priority order customs authorities clear equipment for high-tech enterprises of timber industry complex within the framework of development of new investment projects».
