Smuggling more than 10 tons of caviar and scallops was stopped by customs officers in Primorsky Krai

Smuggling in China more than 10 tons of aquatic biological resources – red caviar and scallop – stopped at checkpoints Kraskino and Poltavka (Primorsky Krai) the officers of the Ussuri customs. The cargo was detained as a result of joint activities with the Seaside transport office of public Prosecutor and Management of FSB of Russia for the Primorye territory.

The illegal export was organized by two Russian companies. A businessman from Vladivostok, has filed the customs Declaration on the export to China of 8.2 tonnes of frozen keta red caviar, Packed in plastic containers of 25 kg (327 years). When verifying the submitted information it was determined that they are invalid. Documents required for registration of the veterinary certificate, the man was forged.

Another citizen of Russia through the firm tried to export to China 2.6 tons of seaside living scallop. The audit revealed that the documents are invalid: valuable biological resource tried to take under the guise of farmed. On the facts of contraband of strategically important resources of the Ussuri customs opened three criminal cases under part 1 of article 226.1 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE. Sanctions article stipulates a penalty of up to one million rubles, or deprivation of liberty for a term up to seven years.
