In the first half of 2020 foreign trade turnover in the region of St. Petersburg customs has increased by 7% compared to the same period last year and reached 8 billion 33 million dollars. According to customs statistics, imports grew by 19% and amounted to 4 billion 25 million U.S. dollars, exports fell by 4% up to 4 billion 8 million rubles.

A mass load feature loads in 2019 increased by 17% to 12 million 575 thousand tons, while the weight of the volume of export cargo increased by 34%, and import – 16%.

In the commodity structure of imports in value terms are dominated by machinery and mechanical appliances (25% of the total imported goods), electrical machinery and equipment (15%) and plastics and articles thereof (7%).

85% of all exported goods in terms of value are wood and articles of wood. The share of organic chemical compounds and ferrous metals accounted for 9% and 5% of the total export volume respectively.

Foreign trade operations in the first half of 2020 was performed 8 029 traders.

As a result of the growth of foreign trade turnover in the first half of 2020, there is an increasing number decorated in the St. Petersburg customs declarations for goods. For the six months of this year more than 178 thousand customs declarations (DT), 21% more than in the same period of 2019 (importing more than 82 thousand DT, the export – 96 thousand DT).

At the St. Petersburg customs is expanding the practice of applying the automatic registration and automatic release of goods declarations.

Automatically share the registered declarations of exported goods increased to 90% compared to 86% in 2019, share of automatic registration of declarations for imported goods made up 73% compared to 50% in 2019, the proportion of automatic release of declarations for exported goods increased to 88% compared to 60% in 2019, share of the automatic release of the declarations for imported goods also increased from 58% in 2019 to 74% in 2020.

At the end of the first half of 2020, the Saint-Petersburg customs transferred to the Federal budget, 34 billion 324 million rubles of customs duties. The planned job is done on 101,03%.
