The 46th meeting of the Joint Board of Customs Services of the EAEU member states was held in St. Petersburg on May 28 under the chairmanship of Valery Pikalyov, head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.

The heads of customs services of five countries arrived in the Northern Capital the day before, on May 27. On the first day of their visit, they familiarized themselves with the Baltic Customs Service and the infrastructure of the Bronka seaport

The first item on the agenda was the election of Valery Pikalyov as chairman of the Joint Board for a one-year term. Taking the floor, he thanked the participants for their trust and emphasized the readiness to work together to achieve practical results in the interests of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union

The members of the Joint Board discussed a total of 21 issues on the agenda

They paid special attention to the implementation of the instruction of the Heads of Government of the Union to ensure common approaches to risk management in the control of customs value of goods

They also considered measures to shorten the timeframe for customs control of CITES objects, issues of classification of certain goods, and a number of important issues to improve information interaction and increase the efficiency of customs control

The next meeting of the Joint Board will be held in September in Vladivostok
