Half a ton of hashish worth 800 million rubles was detained by customs officers in the North-West

Two large consignments of hashish were prevented from being brought into Russia by officers of the North-West Operational and Pskov customs together with the Russian Federal Security Service in the Pskov region. They seized 478 kilograms of the drug worth over 800 million rubles

Two Serbian natives tried to smuggle the contraband into the country in two tractor-trailers, which arrived from Latvia through checkpoints of the Pskov customs. The vehicles are registered in Serbia

The tractors were detained by customs officers 4 days apart. From the tank of the first one 186 kilograms of hashish were extracted, from the tank of the second one – 292 kilograms

In the course of operatively-search actions the persons involved in the organization of drug trafficking were arrested. Pskov and North-West operational customs initiated criminal proceedings under part 4 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of narcotic drugs on a particularly large scale, committed by an organized group)
