Ussuriysk customs: almost 38 kg of crab tried to illegally export from Russia by a Chinese citizen

ussuriysk customs officers seized 37.5 kg of crab from a Chinese citizen leaving the Russian Federation at the Turyi Rog checkpoint.
During customs control of goods transported by tourists who arrived at the checkpoint by bus, the customs officers paid attention to the Chinese citizen. The man was carrying two large cardboard boxes. During customs inspection, the customs officers found  seafood – frozen cooked crab claws.
During the inspection, the customs officers found that the PRC citizen did not declare the goods. In addition, the man did not present any commercial authorization, customs documents, veterinary certificate. He explained that he was moving seafood for personal use, crab claws bought in a store, he had no receipts for payment.
The undeclared crab, weighing 37.5 kg, was seized by customs officers and placed in safe custody.
In respect of the offender Ussuriysk customs initiated a case of administrative offense under part 1 of article 16.2 of the CAO RF (non-declaration of goods subject to customs declaration in the prescribed form). Now the violator faces a fine – up to twice the value of the goods with their confiscation.

In accordance with the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission from 20.12.2017 № 107 «On certain issues related to goods for personal use», «fish, crustaceans (live, chilled, frozen) in an amount of more than 5 kg» do not relate to goods for personal use.
