Eight thousand packs of cigarettes from the stash detained by customs officers

May 12, 2020 at the post checkpoint Upper Lars customs officers seized more than eight thousand packs of cigarettes hidden in the stash of the truck. The goods arrived on the territory of the Russian Federation from Armenia in a vehicle under control of the citizen of the Republic.

8 177 packs of cigarettes brands “black”, “Klassik”, “Davydov” and “Parliament” was hidden from customs control in specially equipped hiding place in the bottom of the semitrailer “Schmitz”.

The event on suppression of attempts of illegal movement of a large consignment of tobacco products was conducted by staff of the North Ossetian customs cooperation with officials of FSB of Russia on RSO-Alania and PU FSB of Russia on RSO-A.

Currently, customs officials are assessing the value of the detained goods for the purpose of establishing evidence of a crime, responsibility for which is envisaged in article 200.2 of the criminal code.
