Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, Vladimir Ivin, arrives on a working visit to the Far East.

Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, Vladimir Ivin, has arrived on a working visit to the Far East. He will participate in the Eastern Economic Forum, discuss issues related to the Far Eastern business, meet with the leadership of customs authorities, and visit several customs posts.

During his visit, Ivin visited the Far Eastern Energy Customs Post of the Central Energy Customs, where employees carry out customs operations and actual control of energy carriers and vessels transporting them in the maritime passageways of Nakhodka and Vostochny. He also familiarized himself with the infrastructure of one of the largest oil terminals in Russia — the Kozmino port. The construction of this port has facilitated the export of oil to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The main range of goods moved in the area of activity of the Far Eastern Energy Customs Post includes oil, coal, and petroleum products.

In addition, Vladimir Ivin visited the specialized seaport «Sukhodol» in the area of activity of the Nakhodka Customs. This is an investment project aimed at facilitating access to port infrastructure for small and medium-sized coal mining enterprises with a projected cargo turnover of 12 million tons of coal per year and a possible increase to 20 million tons per year. The main principle of implementing the project is the use of preferences of the Free Port of Vladivostok. Currently, the coal terminal and universal transshipment complex have already been completed. It is planned to create the largest multimodal port in the Far East, which will be able to handle about 30% of the total cargo turnover of the Primorsky Krai. A number of port infrastructure facilities will be built, including grain and container terminals, as well as terminals for mineral fertilizers and liquefied gas, an industrial zone, and a shipbuilding cluster.

Since the beginning of 2024, employees of the Maritime Port Nakhodka Customs Post have processed 93 orders for the loading of coal with a total weight of almost 1.8 million tons. During this period, the number of vessel calls for coal exports amounted to 41 (the departure of these vessels from the EAEU territory was carried out in the Vladivostok Customs region).

Vladimir Ivin also met with Artem Kaminsky, a member of the Public Council at the Federal Customs Service of Russia and a representative in the Far Eastern Federal District. The parties discussed the interaction of customs authorities with business representatives and issues relevant to participants in the foreign economic activity of the Far East.
