Customs officers seize illegal perfume worth 200 million rubles at a warehouse in the Moscow region

A shipment of perfumes from well-known brands worth 200 million rubles was discovered by customs officers in the industrial zone of the Moscow region. The sealed truck was traveling from Turkey to Belarus via Moscow. In order to avoid paying customs duties for the imported goods, a group of criminals unloaded 17,000 perfume bottles and replaced them with liquid soap packaging at a warehouse in Lytkarino, where they were apprehended by customs officers. The organizer of the scheme turned out to be a 49-year-old native of Syria. As a result of these illegal actions, the budget missed out on 62 million rubles. A criminal case has been initiated for the evasion of customs duties committed by a group of individuals in an especially large amount. The suspects in the case face up to 5 years of imprisonment.
