Customs officers in the North-West detained half a ton of hashish worth 800 million rubles

Two large consignments of hashish were prevented from entering Russia by officers of the North-West Operational and Pskov customs together with the FSSB of Russia in the Pskov region. 478 kilograms of the drug worth over 800 million rubles were seized from the illegal turnover.
Two natives of Serbia tried to smuggle the contraband into the country in two tractor-trailers, which arrived from Latvia through the checkpoints of the Pskov customs. The vehicles are registered in Serbia.
The trucks were detained by customs officers four days apart. From the tank of the first one 186 kg of hashish were extracted, from the tank of the second — 292 kg.
In the course of operatively-search activities arrested persons involved in the organization of drug trafficking.
The Pskov and North-West operative customs initiated criminal cases under part 4 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of narcotic drugs on a particularly large scale, committed by an organized group);
