Chelyabinsk customs officers revealed counterfeit contraceptives

Mobile group of the Chelyabinsk customs in cooperation with the PU of the FSB of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region suppressed the attempt of smuggling from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan counterfeit contraceptive.

Truck with consumer goods, heading through the checkpoint “Troitsk”, was stopped on highway A-310. The car was discovered 750 units of contraception, with signs of counterfeit. 9 thousand packages of condoms “Contex” was heading from the city of Alma-ATA and destined for sale on the domestic market in Oktyabrsky (Republic of Bashkortostan).

The trademark owner reported that it did not provide the right to use the trademark and confirmed counterfeit products. The damage amounted to about 2.5 million rubles.

“On the packaging there were obvious signs of counterfeiting: low printing quality, a mismatch of text and graphic elements, use of non-original serial number. And that means that the contents are unsafe for life and health of consumers”, – commented Denis Solyannikov, head of Department for control over smuggling and trafficking in goods of the Chelyabinsk customs.

27 thousand units of the goods seized and handed over to the police Troitsk. Considered a question on excitation of criminal case under part 1 of article 180 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation. Offenders face up to two years of imprisonment.
