Chelyabinsk customs officers detained a consignment of counterfeit goods on 7 million roubles

Mobile group of the Chelyabinsk customs foiled an attempt to import counterfeit clothing of famous brands.

A freight car “Mercedes-Benz” with consumer goods heading from Bishkek (Republic of Kyrgyzstan) and was stopped on the highway A-310 a checkpoint near Troitsk (Chelyabinsk oblast).

In the car found more than 8 thousand units of counterfeit clothing. Sports pants, suits, shorts and t-shirts brands “Adidas”, “Reebok”, “Nike”, “Puma”, “Tommy Hilfiger”, “Jordan” was intended for further sale in Novosibirsk.

According to preliminary estimates the damage caused to the owners of registered trademarks amounted to 7.2 million rubles.

At the moment the goods seized and handed over to the police Troitsk. Considered a question on excitation of criminal case under part 1 of article 180 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation. Violators face a fine and imprisonment up to 2 years.

From the beginning of 2020 mobile group of the Chelyabinsk customs revealed more than 8 thousand units of counterfeit products, the damage to copyright holders amounted to 22 million roubles, 7 thousand bottles of alcoholic production and 8 thousand packs of cigarettes with Russian excise stamps, and 27 tons of medical goods prohibited for exportation from the territory of the Russian Federation during the validity period of a temporary ban on the export of certain types of medical devices.
