The meeting was opened by the head of Kaluga Customs Dmitry Krivko. In his speech, he noted: “In the current situation, the work on customs control in 2023 was continued in terms of reducing the administrative burden on the participants of customs processes, creating conditions that maximize the speed of cargo movement and the growth of trade turnover
The special economic zone “Kaluga” operates in the region of the customs office’s activity, and 31 companies are residents of this zone. In connection with the growth of production of finished goods in comparison with the last year the number of notifications for import of goods to the territory of the special economic zone of Russian raw materials and building materials increased by 10.4%. Permits issued for export of goods from its territory increased by 53.7 %.
One of the main areas of customs work is customs control after the release of goods. In 2023, 97 post-control checks were carried out, resulting in additional customs payments totaling 2 billion rubles
An important component of customs work is also law enforcement activities of customs authorities. During the reporting year, 1,215 cases of administrative offenses were initiated. Collected fines in the amount of 9.8 million rubles. Executed 419 decisions on the appeal of goods in federal property in the amount of 1.4 billion rubles
Alexander Shevchenko, deputy head of the Central Customs Administration, praised the work of Kaluga Customs in 2023. He thanked the customs officers for their professionalism and presented the best officials with departmental awards, certificates of honor and letters of thanks from the Federal Customs Service.
