Officers of the Kursk customs together with the police found more than 17 thousand packs of tobacco products without mandatory labeling and with signs of counterfeiting
In four specialized retail establishments in Kursk they seized 17,022 packs of cigarettes, 128 electronic nicotine delivery systems, 132 packs of hookah tobacco, 135 packs of nicotine-containing liquid, 15 packs of chewing tobacco and 99 sticks for tobacco heating systems.

The prohibited unmarked tobacco products were handed over to police officers for examination. Based on their results, depending on the value of the goods, decisions will be made on the initiation of administrative or criminal cases.

“Together, since the beginning of the year, the customs in cooperation with the police seized about 42 thousand packs of counterfeit cigarettes,” said Maxim Tikhomirov, deputy head of Kursk customs.
It’s not difficult to identify counterfeit tobacco products. The packs lack the original excise stamps of the Russian Federation and marking with special Russian identification marks, tobacco products are sold for cash at a price much lower than the market price, tobacco often has non-specific odors
